“A Good Old Subject to Discuss”
The Indianapolis Star, Indianapolis, Indiana, October 13, 1913
Of all uncertain things there are,
The weather seems the most—
One month may freeze us, while the next
May make us broil or roast,
It may be very clear and dry,
With not an ounce of mud,
But who can tell? the next day may
Be like old Noah's flood!
But what's the use to fume and fret?
It certainly don't pay;
I'll let the weather do its worst
And still I'll smile away.
