Harry M. Reeder,  “To James Whitcomb Riley”

The Indianapolis Star, Indianapolis, Indiana, October 13, 1913
Friend of Longfellow, friend of mine, I love the verses that are thine. I wish their writer each good thing That thy own peace of mind could bring; Length of days and love to live them, Friends a-plenty; love to give them. Peace and joy and labor and praise, Heaven at last to crown thy days.
Added August 16, 2026. Second prize in a poetry competition celebrating "the great Hoosier poet, James Whitcomb Riley". JV
