“Springtime Yarns”
The Baltimore Sun, Baltimore, Maryland, June 7, 1908
It's a little bit late,
But we'll venture to state,
On the way.
Someone may, with a rake,
Kill a two-headed snake
Any day.
We may look any hour
For the news of a shower
In which trout
By the dozen will drop;
In the streets wildly flop
All about.
Oh, the crop never fails
Of these telegraph tales
Odd and queer,
And they're ready, I wis,
Somewhere 'round about this
Time of year.
