“The Drowsy Fisherman”

The Baltimore Sun, Baltimore, Maryland, June 15, 1908
The weather's so invitin', The bait is in the cup; If the fish should go to bitin', Don't let 'em wake me up! The catfish pulls amazin', But when he nibbles free, Don't wake me up, I tell you— Just land the fish for me! The river's song is drowsy Where dreamy shadows creep; Wakin' time is worktime, An' they ain't no harm in sleep!
