“When the Moon Shines on the "Moonshine"”

The Gem, The Yearbook of Taylor University, Upload, Indiana, 1929
When the moon shines on the MOONSHINE Lying in the steel gon car, There are fifty tons of brightness That are going near and far. We folks down in the mountains Bring this coal out every day, And with it goes our best regards When it starts along the way. For we know that every ton and block Is just the best of coal, That will bring health and heat and warmth To some poor weary soul. It isn't high in ash or dirt, It's the hottest thing we know To drive away the cold outside And laugh at winter's snow. Let our joys be unconfined, The pleasures yours and mine, When Lady Moon comes out to shed Her light on Old MOONSHINE.
