“The Rubbernecks”
The Baltimore Sun, Baltimore, Maryland, July 14, 1908
They rubbered and laughed
And laughed and rubbered,
And then they rubbered
And laughed some more.
They laughed and rubbered
And rubbered and laughed,
And rubbered until
Their necks were sore.
They rested a while
And then came back
To laugh and rubber
And crane and roar.
They rubbered and laughed
Because they saw
Something that they
Hadn't saw before.
